Dammit, my employee cornered me (figuratively, I was at my desk and he sits right next to me) and totally humble-bragged/name dropped a ridiculous story to me that I had to respond to since I was the only one there and he was talking directly to me. He mentioned that they reopened Kurt Cobain's suicide investigation (not really true, they reexamined the evidence and came to the same conclusion already) and that Courtney Love is crazy. I was like "yep" haha...*trails off*. He then mentions he met her a few times and she is crazy. "yep, haha...."*mumbles awkwardly and hopes convo is over* Her daughter interned at my wife's gallery "oh, interesting, yep, haha...*struggles to retain false interest* yeah my aunt-in-law worked on her first album "ummm, congratulations...?" End scene.
Why must some people try so hard to impress others? And it's not as if I am pretending not to care. I honestly don't. And not in a "i'm too cool for school" kind of way. I am impressed with personal accomplishments, not meeting other people who have accomplished things. Who the fuck cares what they do. You do you and be fabulous and awesome. And homeboy has the potential to be awesome at a lot of things. But who cares what I think. My brushes with fame are few and unnoteworthy.
